Crane Training Nottingham, The East Midlands & UK

To optimise the safe use of overhead cranes, it is vital that professional crane operator training is conducted by an experienced and certified instructor. AMB Training has been providing crane operator training tailored to your workplace requirements for many years to a wide range of businesses ranging from plastic moulding, steel fabrication, engineering and power system companies right through to small businesses on their premises.

Crane operator training courses are conducted at customer's sites so that the training is entirely relevant to the specific needs of the trainees. It is essential that when training a crane operator, the course is directly related to the knowledge of the operator, the likely hazards and to the size and complexity of the crane itself. All AMB Training instructors have extensive practical operator experience, knowledge and skills with all types of overhead travelling cranes, loose lifting equipment inspections (LOLER 1998) & slinging techniques, enabling us to run courses in a safe, effective way that will best suit the operator's and the company's requirements.

The training courses offer the delegates both theoretical and practical training skills to enable them to operate the equipment professionally and safely.

All training courses fully comply with British Standards, which state that the training of personnel should be treated as an important element in the overall safe planning and supervision of lifting operations. It is the employer's duty to ensure that all operators are fully trained to use the particular equipment. Adequate supervision must be provided to monitor the competence of the operators and slingers with regular assessments carried out to ascertain the need for refresher training.

Most operators should also have the knowledge and the skills to carry out slinging. The slinger should be over 18 years or under the direct supervision of a person competent for the purpose of training.
